Way Down Yonder in The Cornfield by The Brilliant Quartet (1891)

I discovered another version of this rather awful song, very close to the one I remember from my wayward youth, but I just couldn't post it, I couldn't. This one has the same flavor, with the advantage that you can't understand the words.

  1. Reminds me of Bing Crosby, and Down by the Old Mill Stream, on my grandfather's old crank gramophone... Remember that? By the by, it's still in my apt., that record still ready to play...

  2. Oh yeah! That's where I remember that one-sided record from. I remember on a rainy day we climbed up into the attic and found the gramophone and all those ancient records. It was fascinating. The racism was quite shocking.
